In news of the weird, The Times Online reports that Nintendo is (politely, we're sure) asking master game designer Shigeru Miyamoto - you know, the guy that made that game with the plumber and the gorilla? - not to discuss his hobbies outside of games with ... anyone. According to the article, "any glimpse inside his head could be worth billions," which is why we're crating up our MRIs of his noggin and shipping them off to Area 51.Liink and Zellda: The Misadventure tickets, [liink & zell-da: the mis-ad-ven-ture] production notes (via Wonderland)
Written and Directed by Serena Obhrai.Starring Serena Obhrai, Sarah Evans, Darren Stoneham, Simon Newton, Rachael Wharton, Sarah Westman, Helen Lynch and Eleanor White.

Dragon Nest, the new MMO from NCSoft splinter company Eyedentity, is actually looking fairly healthy. Its cartoonish Zelda-like world suggests that it’s going to be low spec (ideal since it’s being touted heavily as the next big thing on the Chinese market) and it could be fairly accessible. The trailer (after the click) is full of zest and the game looks like a lot of fun. If it can manage to avoid being as tedious as the big Korean MMO staples (I’m looking at you, Lineage II) then it could well be a success.

In the world of professional game blogging, the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important groups: the bloggers who investigate the stories and readers who make silly comments. These are the first group's stories.

You wouldn't castigate us for saying that many classic video games are loved and remembered not just for their gameplay and characters, but their memorable music. Why, just think of The Legend of Zelda's dum dum, da da da dadum, da da da da daaa da da da da da dadum! Or Sonic the Hedgehog's dada da da dee dum dum, da dada da dum dee dum dum. And who could forget Mega Man's dada dada dadee dum, dadum dadum dum daaa?Continue reading Video Games Live announces 50 shows for world tour

Our drinking buddies at GameDaily were invited to an exclusive, two-hour roundtable with Mr. Wii Fit himself, Shigeru Miyamoto yesterday, along with several other industry outlets like IGN. But Miyamoto also stretched his way over to 1UP and MTV News in what we can only imagine is the warmup of a pretty significant Wii Fit media blitz. While there isn't much you haven't already read in the Wii Fit installment of Nintendo's Iwata Asks series, there are a handful of interesting comments. Big thanks to Supafine's "Legend of Zelda: Visceration Station" webcomic for finally (and logically) explaining the heart system to us. The least we, as the Joystiq community, can apparently do is bestow you the honor of best game-related webcomic of the week.
